Ilex Skin Protectant Paste is a topical Hydro Active skin barrier that seals out wetness to heal and protect severely damaged skin. Ilex is the only skin protectant that provides a 0.00cm/hr moisture penetration rate.
Ilex Skin Protectant Paste is a topical barrier designed to provide soothing, healing relief to patients who suffer from skin breakdown and irritation. By easing the discomfort, this non-toxic petrolatum-based product may actually decrease the need for pain and anxiety medications.
Ilex does not contain alcohol or latex, so it’s safe to use on the most fragile skin such as neonates.
Particularly effective against digestive and urinary acids, Ilex Skin Protectant Paste is currently being used for four main medical conditions:
- Pediatric and adult peri-anal excoriation
- Severe Diaper Dermatitis
- G-tube site irritation and excoriation
- Ostomy site irritations and excoriation

This is the only product that works for my son after he had an ilio-anal pull thru to correct his Hirschbrung's Disease! It's like gold in a tube! We use it many times a day to protect his skin and it's the one product that has helped heal his diaper rash. Love, Love , Love this cream!

Saved our lives! My newborn infant developed several small open areas on his bottom. Regular diaper creams were not working because they would not stick to the raw skin like Ilex does. Ilex covered the area so it could heal. Make sure you have Vaseline to go with it...instructions say to cover Ilex with the vaseline to keep it from sticking to the diaper. The areas started healing in 2 days!

My 18 month old daughter has a minor bowel issue that is treated with laxatives. The laxatives often lead to loose stool and severe diaper rash. I use the Ilex overnight to protect her delicate bottom from irritation. It has worked wonders!

As a CWOCN, this product is the only one that I have found within my 23 years in practice that will heal a denuded painful perianal skin within 3 days. Applied to clean dry skin iLex must be fanned out in one direction to cover the entire area. This is done once per day. Then cover with liberal amounts of a vaseline type petroleum product. I have also used a second layer of vaseline petroleum gauze of the vaseline layer for severe areas. When the patients soils the area the petroleum layers are cleaned off and reapplied as needed. If this is done accurately the skin will be healed within 3 days.
