My companion parrot had to start taking an anti-seizure medication earlier this summer. I found myself frustrated with the oral syringe provided by the pharmacy that fills the medication. It was too short to reach the bottom of the bottle----and the size made it difficult to handle. I happened to mention this to my local CVS pharmacist---and he gladly produced a few different kinds from behind the counter that I could try. This product (BD 1ml oral syringe) was hands-down the winner----easiest to read and long enough to do the job. I simply did a search and read seller reviews ----Allegro Medical got my business! The order arrived promptly and I was quite satisfied. I will gladly reorder from them as needed.

I use these oral syringes to give my daughter a very low dose of Ritalin. I like them because they are easy to read. They are also easy for the school because her dose is only 1 ml, they can't possibly give her more than she should have because the syringe only goes up to 1 ml. My only complaint is that I wish after being washed they would last longer. The plungers go bad, but I think they are only intended for single use anyway.

Use to premeasure several days of doses for a cat who won't sit still while a syringe is filled. Easy to remove the cap quickly to administer dose. Can be a litte difficult to see the fill mark except in excellent light.

 I would like to know the length of the 1 ml BD Oral Syringe. Some of the oral syringes I've tried are not long enough to reach the bottom of the medicine bottle.

I have never purchased syringes before. Does the 1ml mean the whole syringe holds 1ml of liquid? Is this item plastic? Am I able to measure .4ml on it accurately?
