great for single use

Pros:
Lightweight. Safe. Sturdy.
Best Uses:
bolus feeding.
Describe Yourself:
Caregiver. mother .

We use this syringe to bolus feed our daughter. After a few times use it becomes difficult. Using it has caused severe elbow pain from pulling to back to fill. For a one time use it is fine but for longer use it is a serious pain (in the elbow).

Question:
I find that the syringe is extremely difficult to use after the first time. I agree with the person who says it gives her a pain in the elbow. My shoulders hurt also. Is there any way to prevent this problem? How can I make subsequent uses easier? I use it for bolus feeding.

Answer:
I also use this 60cc syringe for bolus feedings of formula. We then flush 60-120ccs water to clear the syringe, connector & g-tube. I then rinse it and take it apart to let it dry until the next bolus feeding. before putting it together will get the syringe and plunger wet. Havent had a problem yet. Wish you luck

Answer:
My sister's insurance pays for her syringes for bolus feedings. The hospital and home health nurses told me never to use a syringe for more than one days feeding.
