Answer:
The flush solution is 0.9% (9mg sodium chloride, equal to 3.6mg sodium per mL of solution). This contains no bacteriostat, only hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide to maintain pH. Proper medical practice is to use vials of diluent, not lock-flush solution as it increases chances of infection & cross contamination. Jonathan Smith, M.Chem., E.Met.
