I needed a disposable filter needle for use in drawing medication from a glass ampoule to guard against drawing possible glass particles into the syringe. Easy to use and does what I need it to do. Great product!

Cons:
Slow filtering.
Best Uses:
Drawing from ampule.

I use these to draw from ampules. The filters give me peace of mind that the solutions are safe from glass particles that may get in from opening the ampules. They do however take a long time to filter. (Up to a minute or more) overall good product though.

Exactly what I needed to filter medication from glass ampules. Best of all they don't cost a dollar a piece like my local hospital, the only place in town that carries them.

Answer:
The needle has a built in 5 micron filter. This allows you to use the needle as a filter to remove particles in a fluid equal to or larger than 5 micron in size. Therefore the fluid that ends up in your syringe has been filtered if you use the needle to suck in the fluid.

Answer:
A filter needle is just that, a needle with a small, fine filter inside. I use a medication that comes in glass vials like this: http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/664541937/clear_glass_ampoule_bottle_for_injection_packing.jpg_220x220.jpg You don't open a seal or cap. The vial itself has to be snapped open. While probably not necessary, it always helps to be cautious. In case any tiny glass microshards break off and end up dropping into the medication, I use a filter needle to draw it into the syringe. While probably not totally necessary in my case, I would rather take a few more seconds and use a filter needle than risk injecting tiny glass shards.

Answer:
A filter needle is a needle used to filter the contents typically from a glass ampule as it is being pulled up into a syringe. During the process of opening glass ampules small shards of glass can enter the solution, so it is advisable to use a filter needle to prevent these small glass shards from ending up being injected into whoever you are injecting the solution into. Long term injection of glass will cause problems within the tissue.

Answer:
A filter needle is a hypodermic needle with a built in filter. This particular one has a 5 micron filter, and would ensure that particles larger that 5 micron won't pass through the needle.
