The Antibacterial Personal Catheter by Rochester Medical features a unique silicone composition that provides an antibacterial coated soft outer layer of silicone combined with a firm inner layer. These features make the Antibacterial Personal Catheter the ideal product for the patient who is at risk from the typical complications associated with intermittent catheterization such as urethral trauma and urinary tract infection.

The unique characteristics of the outer surface of the Antibacterial Personal Catheter provides localized antibacterial activity. Nitrofurazone, a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent with over 50 years of proven efficacy, is delivered to the urethra when and where protection is needed.

The Antibacterial Personal Catheter provides site-specific delivery of nitrofurazone, a drug that has been proven effective in preventing UTIs. The nitrofurazone is not absorbed systemically.

The layered silicone construction provides ideal firmness for comfortable, easy insertion while minimizing trauma to the urethral tissues that can occur with stiffer catheters. It also eliminates allergen or toxin concerns commonly associated with latex and PVC catheters.

Four comfort-sized drainage eyes and a unique seamless tip pass smoothly over urethral tissue and drainage eyes are offset to optimize bladder emptying.
