The Bardex I.C. Silver-Coated Latex Foley Catheter is clinically proven to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections. Incorporating a technologically-advanced formulation consisting of Bacti-Guard silver alloy coating and Bard hydrogel, the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter dramatically reduces bacterial adherence and minimizes biofilm formation.

The occurrence of urinary tract infection is 3.7 times greater in patients catheterized with a standard catheter than in patients catheterized with the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter with Bacti-Guard silver alloy coating and Bard hydrogel.

I have gone through seven of these catheters. I began using it after having experienced frequent infections. I also use Coloidal silver on a daily basis. No infections whatsoever since then. I'm amazed hospitals do not use this as a standard product for their patients.

Usually change once per month and keep extra "kit" of catheter, sterile tray, drainage bag, and two leg bags on hand. I'm self sufficient so make the change myself.

I've dealt with UTI's for the last 20yrs - As I've aged it has gotten worse. I read about these catheters reducing them by up to 47%. So far I have experienced no great results as I still suffered bladder infections every month. I intend to try these for at least a year to give it a fair shot but haven't been impressed. They are easy to use and feel no different than the reg foley cath. I've only used them 3 months now. I would recommend at least trying them. Other reviewers here seem to benefit from them. The only other con is the price for those of us on limited budgets.

This catheter causes less problems than any other I have tried. Last about 5-6 weeks before having to change. Very little problems with uti. As far as indwelling catheters goes, seems to be the best on the market.
