This type and size of cath is better for a man and allows for better intimacy after the necessity. Due to a bladder obstruction and now a neurogenic bladder...i must cath three times a day to live a more normal healthy life style. I was sent home with PVC style and even cuodo tip, but found that I had to find my own way. Much trial and error ensured and much trauma. This product being plastic 12 fr is the best for me. I wish it was packed straight and not with the curve, that is the only draw back. That curve is felt and that is not always comfortable. My condolences to all who must cath....hang in there!!! I am a healthy female, other than I self-cath for urinary retention. I use the "male" size, because it's easier to fold in half and carry in a makeup bag, plus, I can always go standing up if I need to in a dirty bathroom! I re-use the same cath for several weeks, just washing it in warm water with soap, drying it and putting it back in the sleeve it came in. For on-the-go, I find if I carry the Benzalkonium Chloride wipes, I can clean it off without washing it in public and so far no infections...I also take 50 mg. Macrobid about twice a week to ward off infections though (I have to self-cath every time I urinate). Hope this helps!

I have Spina Bifida and a partially paralyzed bladder. I self-catherize several times a day and this is the only catheter brand I use. As a female user, I need a sturdy (not hard) catheter and this is perfect. It is not flimsy or hard to aim and I highly recommend this item to anyone who catherizes on a regular basis.
