Non-adhesive is worth the extra $

He preferred a non-adhesive version so we invested in this style. It has a gentle balloon on the inside that inflates air via syringe (included).
The most difficult part was learning how much air was needed for an adequate seal so it did not fall off or leak. It is easy to apply despite the silicone being thicker than some of the older latex versions I used in home health care with other patients.
Overall we've had a 90% leak-free success with this one, have used it for over a month and it remains airtight and holds its seal well. Is easy to keep clean with soap and water and air dries nicely. No skin problems at all - very nice.

The inflatable retaining collar on this catheter is far superior to the self-adhesive ones I had previously used. It can be removed, cleaned, and reapplied repeatedly. Besides being a better means of attachment, pressure from the collar has significantly reduce my leakage. The only problem I had was discomfort from over inflation. Once I realized that it didn't need to be that tight to stay on, I was sold. It is the only condom catheter I will use now.
