This transfer chair is working out well for my mother and I. It is heavier than I thought it would be but is one half the weight of a traditional "wheelchair" and much easier on my back. Like the one hand release fold down and the one hand set up after getting the chair out of the trunk of the car. The black foamy arm rest cover tears easily and needs a velcro closure covering similar to the push bar covering. The front of the seat sets to high and is initially uncomfortable getting seated and getting out of the chair. After getting seated and engaging the foot rest the chair is comfortable for my 94 year old mother. Would like to see it fold flatter. The wheels have to be in my car trunk just right for the trunk to close. Dont need the gigantic chair carry bag that came with the order. Others might. Do need a small accessories bag that might have a detachable hook that could be placed on the push bar to hold occupant necessities or to hang a purse off the padded push bar. This chair is much easier to maneuver into handicapped bathrooms in public buildings. Like the swivel wheels on the front. A pocket on the back of the transfer chair back might be helpful. Like the bright blue colorful chair. A selection of colors might be attractive to others. The reason I purchased this chair is that it is one half the weight of a traditional wheelchair. I weighed both of them. I have successfully avoided a career ending back injury in 34 years as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and dont want one now. This chair is used for my 94 year old mother. She still is ambulatory with her rolling walker, with a seat, at her assisted living facility. She only has to walk short distances there. Walking a distance creates a shortness of breath issue for her. When I take her on a drive or out shopping she cannot walk distances without consequences. She is on a diuretic and that requires frequent, immediate access to bathroom facilites in public places. This transfer chair makes meeting those needs much easier. I became acquainted with your product in the local mall parking lot. I saw a man pushing his mother and inquired where they acquired their transfer chair. They said it was a gift. We looked on the chair and found the manufactures information which I researched on line and ordered the chair. Thank you for the opportunity to provide my comments. Karla K. I purchased this for my dad. He loves it. It folds easily, and it is solid. It looks good and is very comfortable. His care giver now uses this for the store, doctors, and long walks in the area.

Not all that its cracked up to be... Verified Reviewer

Cons:

I bought this for mother to use when traveling because of the push bar across the back which makes it almost like a baby carrier. I was planning to push mother on it with one hand while rolling luggage through the airport with the other. I also relied heavily on the advertising about its weight. I shouldn't have... 'Light' is a relative term. It did not feel all that light in comparison. Neither was it easy to fold. In fact, folding it was the trickiest part. Not hard, but definitely tricky. It has a 'secret way', you need to pull a metal shin in order to fold the chair. But most importantly, it is constructed like a beach chair and has a metal bar across the edge of the seat, under the knees. This bar coupled with the non adjustable height made it very uncomfortable for mother to use. That said, I passed it on to the neighbor for her husband and they are both very happy with it; she with the lightweight (she is the one carrying it in and out of the car) and he with the feel of it - he is a relatively tall fellow, about 5'8". Seems to be better for taller people. Because it looks so much like a beach chair (color and construction) it would be perfect to roll your loved one to the beach.
