Irritating Verified Purchaser

Pros:
Easy To Use. Promotes Healing.
Cons:
Harsh.
Best Uses:
For serious wounds.
Describe Yourself:
Medical Professional.

We used this on a large infected arm wound. At first it worked fairly well but in a short time the arm was actually becoming irritated by the fibers. At least on this person who is elderly and has fragile skin. We switched to Mepilex Silver Foam and it worked very well. Still gave the silver and absorbed exudate but was smooth and not irritating.

I use this as a healing agent for an ulcer on my foot. Same material used by wound care nurses I have seen over time. Easier to treat at home rather than travel to offices.

Pros:
Promotes Healing. Effective. Safe.
Cons:
Doesn't Alleviate Pain.
Best Uses:
Long Term Use.
Describe Yourself:
Parent.

My adult son has MD and is confined to a wheel chair full time. He developed pressure sores that we are treating with the Aquacel AG. We just cut it to the right size, place it on the wound, & cover with Elastogel to hold it in place. It is keeping his wounds from becoming any more severe & would eliminate them if not for other nutrition issues he is experiencing that prevent him from healing.
