Pros:

the weave sould be a bit . needs tighter weave.
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:
Caregiver. CPR Trained. Parent.

I use them to cleanse the area prior to catherization. They could have a tighter weave but are the best that I have found. Just double up on them and the bedidine doesn't leak thru as much. Really one of the best things about them is that they are made in the USA.

Meets the need!

Pros:
Durable.
Best Uses:
Wound care.
Describe Yourself:
Caregiver.

This product is used for wound care. I originally purchased the 8-ply gauze, but find the 12-ply meets the need for wound care. I cleanse the wound site with this gauze, and I use it, at times, for the dressing to cover the wound.

are these sponges the same as the Johnson&Johnson ones with the real nice, tight weave? Or are they the type most Hospitals use because they are cheaper,i.e. the loose weave type????

Answer:
It is a tighter weave. It depends where you want to use it.i use it for trach care and to put under the trach to collect secretions. This brand is much better than soem of the cheaper rayon ones. These are 100% cotton and they are little pricey as i use it a lot.

No, they are not a tight weave. I use them for a draining wound. This is what my doctor recommended for my situation.

Answer:
Curity has a "loose" weave that is 8 ply, and a "tight" weave that is 12 -ply. I have bought both, and the 12-ply is my choice, as I use it for wound cleaning, wound dressing, colostomy care, and cleaning my mom's face after a meal. As an RN, I wouldn't use anything else for my mom, as I've tried other brands that were a disappointment.
