Product Overview

DeRoyal MULTIDEX Hydrophilic GEL Wound Dressing - 3 oz. tube

MULTIDEX Hydrophilic GEL Wound Dressing
3 oz. tube

MULTIDEX Maltodextrin Hydrophilic Wound Dressing brings topical nutrients to the wound site to create an ideal environment for the body to heal itself.

MULTIDEX Maltodextrin Hydrophilic Wound Dressing fills the wound site, rapidly mixes with the exudate, and forms a protective "coating" to create and maintain a moist environment beneficial for granulation tissue growth and epithlial proliferation.

MULTIDEX Powder and MULTIDEX Gel perform in the same way, except that the gel has been specially formulated for the dry or minimally draining wound.

Effective even in the hardest to heal infected wounds, MULTIDEX Maltodextrin Hydrophilic Wound Dressing controls odors, decreases the amount of purulent exudate is nontoxic. Since MULTIDEX is not absorbed systemically, it is even safe to use on diabetic wounds.

Pros:
Promotes Healing. Effective.
Cons:
Messy.

I change a foot ulcer every day, and recently I started using this. I surgically debride the wound as needed. I put the cream on and then I use a little alginate to cover. I put a nonstick telfa pad on top and some 4x4s. I have used nearly everything including Medihoney, aloe vera creams, Iodosorb, Silversorb, etc. The ulcer I care for is slow healing, but this product---I'm surprised to say--works fast. This is the second tube I am ordering.

I am a diabetic and frequently get ulcers on my feet. I comepletely clean the area of the ulcer , dry the area, then apply Multidex. I then put a small non-stick covering over the wound, and then cover it with good tape to make it air tight. I change the dressing each day, until healing is starting to take place, then every other day. I have never had a wound or an ulcer take more than a month to heal. Ulcers on toes have healed in two weeks at the most. I had a hole in my leg, just above my ankle, about the size of a quarter, and you could see the bone.(No pain as I have no feeling in my hands or feet). It took only 1 month to clear it up. By clearing up I mean the meat was restored and skin back over the wound!!! You might find it to be a little sticky, so don't be sloppy while you are working with it. With all the worries with diabetics having to get their limbs amputated, this MUTIDEX GEL, truly is a Godsend!!!
