Used for prepping/sanitizing skin before surgery, an antiseptic for many purposes, such as soaking catheters for reuse. If you can’t afford to purchase new catheters for daily use this this process is better than boiling. I was taught this trick by an urologist some years ago; simply rinse off the catheter, put it into a new plastic
bag, and add Povidone-Iodine Solutions making sure you don’t splash because it will stain. Get your doctor's approvel before using this method.

I have used providone iodine solution for 5 years due to cancer surgery that requires daily cleaning of the incision site. The iodine will stain clothing and surfaces so care must be taken when using it.
