Pros:
No pain. Promotes Healing. Cleans wound gently. Easy To Use. Safe. Effective.
Best Uses:
Outdoor Activities. Emergency Preparedness. Long Term Use. Keep In The Trunk. Keep In The Medicine Cabinet.
Describe Yourself:

I spray it into my wound. I wait for it to liqidfy the scabbed blood and then apply a soft 4 X 4 pad. I wait a few minutes with the pad on the wound and then remove the pad. The wound is nice and clean ready to dress or leave open to excelerate drying and healing.

Describe Yourself:

I have a chronic ulcer on the dorsum of my left foot, that has been there for three years. This wound has never looked better, it started out a full thickness wound that looked like skinned flesh with mutli-colored soup on top, now it is almost entirely healed with only a few superficial tears here and there, that I am correcting with good compression habits. I was making my own .09% saline solution to cleanse the wound before applying dressings, that with time was drying the wound tremendously. I have used various water based wound gels to prevent drying when the wound was not heavily exudating (this was when I was applying consistent compression and elevation to the affected foot), or else silver containing gels, to prevent infections. Finally about 2 months ago my home health care nurse brought me Medline Skintegrity Wound Cleanser, and recommended that we use this to clean my foot instead of the saline solution. I was applying excessive lotion after the saline with little relief. After less than a month of using this product, the finger like swollen skin cells that were full of fluid fell off as they exfoliated, and fresh granules of skin took their place. My wound was moist and the flaking and peeling ceased, although I developed thick callouses instead that needed a scalpel to remove them (in a wound clinic) for proper healing. The wound cleansing spray dissolved all of the yellow, gold, and brown exudate almost immediately. For dried on exudate my nurse places a thin layer of gauze over it, sprays the gauze until it's moist, and let's it soak without dripping all over the stool and floor since the cleanser is heavily soaked in the gauze, but held in place over the stubborn areas that need cleaning. I feel like Skintegrity is putting moisture back into my skin, but I have no proof of this. I still apply lotion, but considerably less lotion, and far less frequently. This product reduces the amount of painful scrubbing and rubbing needed to remove the exudate. Now when I have the strength to do so, I clean my foot myself where there is occasional drainage, and my home nurse only has to come once or twice a week, instead of 4-7 times a week, as when we began. I use 4"x4" 12-ply gauze to clean the wound with, so that I can just toss it out when it's dirty and keep grabbing clean squares, and then my washcloths don't get stained with protein, or blood if present.

Easy to Use

Pros:
Easy To Use. Safe. Promotes Healing. Effective.
Best Uses:
Keep In The Medicine Cabinet. Long Term Use. Quick Fix. Emergency Preparedness. Outdoor Activities.

I keep a bottle of this for work and a bottle at home for personal use. It's handy to use for wound cleansing, spray bottle works well, clears debris from wound. I have used other wound cleansers that have worked just as well, this brand was less expensive than another I was using.
