SoloSite Wound Gel

SoloSite is a hydrogel wound dressing with preservatives. It can donate moisture to rehydrate non-viable tissue. It absorbs exudate while retaining its structure in the wound, and creates a moist wound environment, which assists in autolytic debridement of wounds covered with necrotic tissues. Use for minor conditions such as:

  • Minor burns
  • Superficial lacerations
  • Cuts and abrasions (partial thickness wounds)
  • Skin tears
  • Venous ulcers (leg ulcers)
  • Pressure ulcers (including stage IV)

SoloSite Wound Gel benefits include:

  • Assists autolytic debridement
  • Non-irritating, non-sensitizing, gentle to fragile granulation tissue
  • Multi-dose size fits reimbursement parameters
  • Cost effective

Describe Yourself:
4-year caregiver for quad.

I have been caring for John for 4 years. We have had several pressure wounds to care for over that time. The wound he has now is by far the worst of them. Stage III almost stage IV. However, with the solosite and xeroform, I can see healing changes with every 12 hour dressing change!!! It is incredible. What would normally have taken months to heal will probably totally heal in 2. Highly recommend this product!!!

My husband is a quadripelgic and we have fought pressure sores for the last 4 years. He has his worst sore right now and the wound nurse in Duluth Minnesota placed Solosite on his wound and then covered it with xeroform and then sterile 4x4s. The dressing is changed twice a day. I have never seen John's wounds heal this fast!!! You can see a difference at every dressing change. We will always have both the solosite and xeroform on hand.

Pros:
Easy To Use. Safe.
Cons:
Extremely slow to work.
Best Uses:
Wounds that itch.
Describe Yourself:
Medical Professional.

Seems to only alleviate mild itching and that helps clients to lose a desire to dig at the area. Personally, I think it is a waste of money. I have never seen it actually heal an ulcer.
