The Tracheostomy Collar secures the tube's positioning and minimizes movement of the tracheostomy tube. Excessive movement of the trach tube can result in accidental dislodgement or displacement of the tube, tracheoesophageal fistula, tracheal stenosis, or airway granuloma.

My wife has had a trach since July 09 and it was supposed to be temporary. However, certain unfortunate things have happened which will necessitate my wife having the trach for the rest of her life. The collars are very comfortable and easy to change.
