Question:
I recently had my catheter "shut down" and had to go to the ER as it was a Sunday; no doctor open. I asked the aide what kind of SMALL caatheter he put on; He said they are BARD catheters. This one is small, probably about 9 inches long and I wear these during the day as I can put on my clothes and not have the "spigot" stick out from under my slacks. Do you have any small catheters for sale? I don't want a 19 oz. I think this one probably holds about 9 or 10 oz. and lasts about 2 hours before having to be emptied. My urology office does NOT have anything this small, only large ones. I use a larger one only during the night. Can you help??

Answer:
I've not found a leg bag smaller than 19 oz and it holds 19 oz not 9 or 10 however if you don't want to empty every 2 hours you'll need a larger bag perhaps 32 oz which lasts about 5 hours depending on how much you drink.

Answer:
First of all, the question is saying catheter, but the person is describing a leg drainage bag. Bottom line, it depends on how much you drink as to how many times you empty a bag. I've worn a catheter & leg bag for 30+ years, always wear a 32 oz. and never have problems having to empty. You have to wear a smaller bag if you wear shorts, etc. but you can also purshase a belly bag if you want it to hide under your shirt & not worry about it not hanging out under your slacks.
