Eakin Cohesive Seal
The Eakin Cohesive Seal is a donut-shape ostomy accessory that can be molded to a variety of shapes. It acts as a gasket or barrier, and provides enhanced protection for hard-to-fit stomas. The unique moldable hydrocolloid barrier forms a gel that helps prevent skin damage by sealing the area between the skin and ostomy appliance. Helps prevent leakage around the stoma by acting as filler for uneven skin surfaces.

how do I measure the stoma for the barrier seal.

I use the 1 7/8 mm Protective Barrier Seal. I use a scissors to cut the seal and then wrap the seal snugly around the base of the stoma. Use your index finger against the seal and it will adhere to the skin around the stoma. This will provide an excellent skin protector and will greatly help to prevent leakage. Then proceed to place the protective wafer over the seal-protected stoma. Place pressure on the for several minutes so that it adheres to the skin. You should have no problems with leakage if you carefully follow these instructions. Hang in there. This procedure will become quite easy with practice.
