Q:
Would this work on a sofa cushion, as well? My 96yo dad has trouble getting up from the couch, using only one of the armrests.

A:
I am a P.T. & purchased this rail for my mother-in-law. It works well for a bed, but doubt it would be much help in getting up off a couch...the problem usually is that a couch is too low or soft. Either try adding cushions to the couch, or use the risers people use (especially in dorms) to raise the height of the couch.
