Magnetic and Pin Pull-Cord Alarms
The Magnetic and Pin Pull-Cord Alarms by Drive Medical deliver unsurpassed reliability with features you've asked for: toughness and extended battery life. The products feature self contained clips for easy attachment to clothing, wheelchairs, beds, or anywhere else a patient may be sitting. When a patient stands up, the medical personnel will be notified by the alarm which is set at either 85dB or 100dB. They are then able to rush over to the patient and ensure they do not fall, wander, or get hurt. The only thing required to make this product work is a single 9v battery, which happens to be included. Simply insert the battery and pin and you are good to go.
The Pin Pull Cord: Besides costing less, the Pin Pull cord is vastly different from the Magnetic Pull Cord. The pin is inserted into the device, and when pulled out, the alarm will sound. It is more secure, and takes slightly more force to pull the pin out. The downside is the pin pulls out in a single direction.
The Magnetic Pull Cord: This product simply sticks to the alarm system with the magnetic base. It can be pulled away in any direction. The only downside is that the magnet is not as secure as the pin pull cord, meaning it can be pulled off slightly easier.
Either one is a great product to use for alarm notification, and will definitely get the job done correctly. For home-care use, the pin pull would easily be sufficient. For the clinical setting, the magnetic pull cord will most likely last longer and perform better.
