Car Hand Controls - Portable Hand Controls: The Automotive Hand Controls are made for use on automatic vehicles for disabled drivers. The Car Hand controls collapse for storage when traveling Easy to install and remove on most vehicles. The Car Hand Controls are strong &
lightweight and are easilly installed
If anyone can take a boring product like portable vehicle "car hand controls" to the next level you would expect Colours can. Unlike the typical portable car hand control systems, Colours has managed to spice up the old driving sticks with a few new features. Although you might say that anodizing the automotive hand controls blue is like putting lipstick on a pig, I say this is how you know they’re crafted from Aerospace Aluminum, the 6061 T-6 aluminum. That’s the good stuff in case you were wondering, not the garbage they make Coke cans and Turkey Frying Pots out of.
So if you’re planning a trip or need to use a rental car for some duration, you'd better have a pair of portable hand controls at the ready. And if you’re looking for something lightweight, foldable and blue, look no further then the Colours AZ-1 portable hand controls.
The AZ-1 portable hand control is made for use on automatic transmission vehicles for drivers who don’t have the use of their legs but do possess a high degree of hand control and function. The AZ-1 portable hand control is not ideal for individuals with limited hand dexterity. Quadriplegics may not have success using the AZ-1 portable hand control.

Ford didn't make the Escort in 1966. Either wrong car or wrong year (the Escort replaced the Pinto, was was in use in the 1970's).

It depends I was making the same controls 40 years ago
But theses are more diled in .take it easy until you get the feel.the gas is Usually the one that is the hardest to push. And so you might become discouraged but you just have to keep trying with it and then if you can't deal with it then Find someone who can listen your carburetor Pollei cable that might have something to do with the hardness of your Excelerator basically I guess it's your Excelerator cable. I hope that helps I been doing it for 40 years and never gets easy later

I have a Ford F 150 pick up and am going to lose the use of my right foot in about a month. So I need hand controls for brake and accelerator. Would the Ford Dealer be able to install your unit for me?
1 Answers
Question By: Bob on Nov 30 -0001 12:00 AM
The Ford dealer probably will be unwilling because of liability but any adaptive driving vendor will do it. Search "hand controls" AND "your city" or check out your local rehab hospital for a listing of recommended vendors. The Ford Mobility or GM mobility websites also list installers.

There are two rods. Gas rod slides through a bracket on the brake rod. I use my left thumb to push the gas rod to go. I release the thumb and push the brake rod with the neel of my left hand. It was easy to learn with a trip around the subdivision. I use cruise control when possible to free a hand to operate other things like the turn signal or heat controls.
