Are 50 "CURITY AMD Antimicrobial Gauze Sponges - 12 Ply 4 x 4" Sterile 2’s in Peel-Back Pkg" 50 packages (envelopes) or 25?

Although box reads 50, there are 25 individual packets of 12 ply gauze, not sponge wound coverings.

Can these sponges be used with saline solution for wet-to-dry dressings?

A:
Seems to me that might destroy the antimicrobial activity of the dressing. I used saline to cleanse, wiped dry with sterile gauze, then affixed the treated gauze. Note: Would have preferred a sponge surface against the skin. Box says 50, but contained only 25 packets. Each packet contains 1 comprised of 12-ply gauze.
