The non-sterile sponges are conveniently indexed in tens for faster, easier handling, while the sterile sponges are sealed two-by-two in packets. An economical dressing in a broad range of sizes and plys. Made from high-grade 100% US grown cotton, these sponges exceed USP Type VII gauze requirements.

Q:
are these sponges the same as the Johnson&Johnson ones with the real nice, tight weave? Or are they the type most Hospitals use because they are cheaper,i.e. the loose weave type????

It is a tighter weave. It depends where you want to use it.i use it for trach care and to put under the trach to collect secretions. This brand is much better than soem of the cheaper rayon ones. These are 100% cotton and they are little pricey as i use it a lot.

No they are not the same as Johnson & Johnson gauzes. They are much thinner.

No, they are not a tight weave. I use them for a draining wound. This is what my doctor recommended for my situation.

Curity has a "loose" weave that is 8 ply, and a "tight" weave that is 12 -ply. I have bought both, and the 12-ply is my choice, as I use it for wound cleaning, wound dressing, colostomy care, and cleaning my mom's face after a meal. As an RN, I wouldn't use anything else for my mom, as I've tried other brands that were a disappointment.
