Product Overview:

Durafiber Gelling Fiber Dressing

AllegroMedical.com presents The Durafiber Gelling Fiber Dressing. DURAFIBER is a soft sterile non-woven pad or ribbon dressing composed of cellulose ethyl sulphonate fibers. This highly absorbent and conformable dressing is designed to rapidly form a clear, cool gel on contact with wound fluid. This gel absorbs excess fluid, locks exudate away from the wound, provides a moist environment to support autolytic debridement and conforms intimately to the wound bed. The high integral wet strength of DURAFIBER facilitates easy one-piece removal from moist wound beds and cavity wounds; minimizing trauma to the wound and pain to the patient on removal.

Strength in Performance
The DURAFIBER range is a new generation of high performing gelling fiber dressing designed to meet the many challenges posed by medium and heavily exuding infected and non-infected wounds.

Specially designed with innovative fiber technology, DURAFIBER features a unique non-woven fiber blend that is integral to its high performance.

This unique blend provides an exclusive combination of benefits that set DURAFIBER dressings apart from conventional gelling fiber dressings.

Clean one-piece removal

  • High wet strength and structural integrity
  • Low risk of fiber shed and dressing residue

High absorption and retention capacity

  • Minimal lateral wicking – helps protect periwound skin against the risk of maceration
  • Locks in fluid and harmful bacteria – may help prevent the risk of cross contamination on removal

Uncompromized patient comfort
Gentle, conformable gel matrix

  • Helps promote patient concordance
  • Reduces dead space where bacteria may proliferate

Assured dressing efficiencies
Unique anti-shrinkage properties

  • Minimal shrinkage when wet – may help sustained coverage
  • Maintains a favorable moist wound healing environment

Finely spun matrix that forms a soft cohesive gel on contact with exudate

This unique blend provides an exclusive combination of properties that enables DURAFIBER to meet the many challenges of exuding wounds:

  • High wet strength: Cellulose fibers give the dry and gelled matrix built-in structural integrity
  • Excellent absorbency: Gelling fibers swell and gel on contact with exudate absorbing and locking in fluid
  • Minimal shrinkage: Reinforcing fibers retain the dressings shape when wet, minimizing shrinkage
  • Highly conformable: Transforms into a soft, cohesive gel sheet which contours closely to the wound bed
