Use above the tailbone which helps cushion the wound and absorbs drainage which helps the healing process. Its a little pricey.

Answer:
Yes, you are correct. The border adhesive keeps it in place and the padding protects the wound. It was ordered by the wound center for my Dad's buttocks decubitus and it is the best product we have used for protection and healing; even better than duoderm.

Perfect for a bed sore. It will protect and remain in place for a few days. For heavy drainage,the wound should be packed;but this is an excellent product for simple bed sores.

Yes! I used it on a pressure sore, and it works wonderfully to promote healing, and it stays in place really well for days!

this dressing is effective for mild to moderate decubiti. my only dislike with it is that it is effectively sealing the wound area and if the wound is draining, exudation builds under the dressing like a blister. if wound is draining excessively the dressing will be compromised. so i don't recommend it for severe or highly draining type wounds with out additional absorbent dressing.
