Product Overview:

Mepore Film for Wound Care

Breathable transparent self-adhesive film dressing. Adheres well, and is very easy to remove without damaging the surrounding skin. It can be used as a fixation dressing and may be left in place for several days. User-friendly and easy to apply.

Mepore Film is a transparent self-adhesive film dressing ideal as secondary fixation dressing and as primary dressing for a wide range of clean wounds. Mepore Film's application system is designed for ease-of-use.

Mepore Film provides a flexible, transparent covering to protect the wound, whilst conforming to surface irregularities and body contours. The film provides a barrier to fluid strike-through and viral and bacterial contamination.

Mepore Film maintains a moist environment in the wound. Due to its high vapour permeability, Mepore Film allows excess moisture to pass away from the wound and surrounding skin.

Love that this is hypoallergenic and it allows me to wear this patch over my subclavian port during chemo or other labs or CT/MRI/PET scans I might need in my ongoing cancer care. It is very cost effective for me to buy it online from Allegro Medical than what a hospital or medical facility would charge me if they needed to use one on me. I cannot afford to get an infection but I also cannot afford to be ripped off on medical supplies. Unfortunately, keeping the patch on all week, I still got blisters, but I think I just have a problem and don't think others will. Great product.

I am in a wheelchair. I have a pressure sore on my butt. I have tried MEPILEX and it does not adhere to my rear end due to the constant movement. Does the MEDPORE adhere well or does it roll off like a Band-Aid?

am looking for a transparent dressing for my PICC. As I have always reacted to every kind of tape, I am proving the same with most of the transparent, i.e.. IV 3000, opsite, tegaderm (regular won't stick, but reacting to Tegaderm HP). Since I do tolerate Mefix tape and always bring my own when going into the hospital, I was wondering if I could tolerate that company's transparent dressings. Unfortunately, any retailer here will only sell me a full box which is quite excessive to my needs( I am figuring that I will need 10 -12 for this treatment). Currently, I am using a 2x2 gauze with Mefix dressing, but because it is not transparent, policy states that I must change it every 3 days, which is also excoriating my surrounding skin areas. I was wondering if Mepore or Mepilex Border Lite for PICC lines would work? Do you have any experience with someone with my concerns? I might also mention that I am also sensitive to LATEX. Thank you so very much for your time and assistance.
