Alchol whipes help, so do the adhesive remover whipes. Use them after removing the tape or as removing ( rub between the tape and skin). Don't apply to the top of the tape, this will just make a sticky mess...

We were never very successful at it, often used a coarse gauze pad folded, dipped in rubbing alcohol, but that can be irritating. I'm sure Allegra has suitable adhesive remover, which is what we use now our doctor gave us.

The best way to remove adhesive (or any type of glue) from skin is acetone. What I do is apply some to a cotton ball or paper towel and "wash" the area with it. You should wash your skin with soap and water afterward so it won't irritate your skin further. Acetone can be purchased at a beauty supply store (like Sally's) or some drug stores and dollar stores still carry it in the beauty aisle in the form of nail polish remover (make sure it says 100% acetone on the bottle). Hope this helps.

I use Uni-Solve Adhesive Remover to remove the adhesive, however I would not recommend using it on open wounds

I have used micropore paper tape to dress a wound on my wife for several months and always used alcohol prep pads without any problem. She is allergic to regular adhesive tape.

My nurse-practioner recommended that I use 'Dressing Retention Tape' made by MEDFIX. Fantastic product and it isn't painful to remove or doesn't leave a sticky residue.
