Silvercel Non-Adherent Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing
Silvercel Non-Adherent Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing absorbs exudate and allows intact removal, whilst maintaining a moist wound environment. A moist wound environment is optimal for wound healing. The silver ions within the dressing protect the dressing from bacterial contamination. Odor reduction results from the antibacterial effect.
The strength and absorbency of silver alginate with a non-adherent layer. Uniquely designed to leave nothing behind but a clean wound environment.
Silver alginate inner layer:
- releases silver ions into wound fluid for up to 7 days in vitro
- stays strong for intact removal, even when wet
Unique, non-adherent outer layers:
- optimal spacing allows the free low of exudate into the dressing

is it ok to moisten silvercel ?

A:
Yes. I would use saline if possible. Ok to wet the dressing then squeeze out most of the moisture before application. If removing the dressing, ok to drip saline onto the dressing and more easily remove it from the wound site.
