What is Juven (and how do I know if I need it?)
JUVEN contains a patented blend of three key ingredients—arginine, glutamine, and HMB—that work together to minimize muscle breakdown and rebuild muscle tissue. Anyone experiencing muscle loss should talk to their physician about using JUVEN. A loss of lean body mass (or muscle) can occur when disease or trauma places additional nutritional needs on the body. These stresses can diminish appetite, causing the body to use protein from muscle stores as an energy source. Over time, muscles become smaller and weaker, and weight is lost. Even a 5% loss in body weight (5 lb for a 100-lb person) can make it harder to recover from illness, can impair a person’s independence, and may even impact quality of life. Therefore, it is important to protect the body from muscle loss and regain lost muscle as quickly as possible.
How does Juven work?
JUVEN’s three key ingredients work together to target metabolic problems associated with loss of lean body mass (muscle). Arginine and glutamine support protein synthesis, the immune system, and cell function (important in building lean body mass or muscle); HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate) minimizes tissue breakdown and maximizes muscle membrane integrity. Together, these ingredients rejuvenate muscle!
Arganine is one of 20 common amino acids found in proteins. It is called a conditionally essential amino acid because at times the body can’t make enough arginine to meet its need and must get additional arginine from the diet. Supplemental arginine has been shown to be beneficial for protein synthesis and immune, intestinal, and muscle function.
Glutamine is also one of 20 common amino acids found proteins. It too is a conditionally essential amino acid, because at times the body can’t make enough glutamine to meet its need and must get additional glutamine from the diet. Muscle contains most of the body’s glutamine stores, and in times of stress, muscle is broken down to release the needed glutamine to the body. Glutamine has been shown to be beneficial for protein synthesis and immune, intestinal, and muscle function.
HMB is a metabolite of the amino acid leucine. In numerous clinical studies HMB has been shown to decrease breakdown of muscle protein and result in an increase in muscle and strength, especially when participating in an exercise program.

How long do I need to continue taking Juven once I see results

Should I consult with my doctor before taking Juven
JUVEN is a medical food and should be used under medical supervision. It is not a complete nutritional product and must be used as part of a balanced diet in order to be effective.
Does Juven have any side effects
JUVEN users do not typically report side effects. However, any change in the diet can result in temporary gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms. If you are experiencing GI symptoms, you can minimize these symptoms by decreasing the amount of JUVEN you consume or by diluting it with more water. If symptoms are severe or persist, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
Can Juven be taken with medications?
There are no known interactions between Juven and prescription drugs.
Can I take dietary supplements with Juven?
Eating a well-balanced diet is critical in order to receive the maximum benefit from JUVEN. If it is not possible to achieve a balanced dietary intake, then medical nutritionals and/or a multivitamin should be considered. As always, check with your doctor to determine what’s best for you.
Can people with diabetes take Juven
Depending on the flavor, JUVEN contains only 2 to 3 grams of carbohydrate and 1 to 2 grams of sugar per serving. There have been no reported problems with people with diabetes taking JUVEN because these levels are low. However, as always, consult your doctor or dietitian if you have concerns about how JUVEN might affect your diabetes.
Does Juven have other benefits?
So far, studies have been focused on muscle loss.
How might starting and stopping Juven affect my results?
JUVEN should be taken as directed (twice daily) for best results. Starting and stopping JUVEN will most likely result in unsatisfactory results.
Juven doesn't seem to be working for me. Why?
Individual results do vary. First, your overall nutritional intake should be examined, as JUVEN is only a supplement to your diet and needs proper support as part of a balanced diet to be able to work. Secondly, the best indication of how you are doing is to have your body composition checked along with having your weight measured—as you may be losing body fat, even though you may be gaining lean body mass (muscle). If you still think you should be doing better, you should discuss your overall health and nutrition with your doctor.
