What Is TENS 3000?

The TENS 3000 Roscoe Medical - Compass Health is a lightweight 9V transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation unit. Unlike EMS devices, its singular purpose is to assist in pain relief and not muscle contraction. Despite being analog, it works with a microprocessor, making it one of the most precise TENS devices on the market.

This device can help alleviate the pain that results from a variety of conditions. These include but are not limited to postoperative pain, joint pains, and sports injuries. Pain relief from TENS can last for hours, with some patients recording over an entire day of pain relief.

This device also has a belt clip for portability, allowing you to get your pain relief as you go about your daily routine.

TENS 3000 Specifications

The TENS 3000 has a dual-channel that allows you to use up to four electrodes to cover a larger surface area for better results. The intensity knobs at the top of the device give you up to 80mA of power for each channel. In addition, the knobs have a transparent cap that prevents the knobs from accidentally turning when you are not using the device.

There are two dials and two switches on the face of the device. The dials allow you to change the rate and width of the electrical pulse. These can be adjusted between 2-150Hz for the rate and 30-260ms for the width. It works in three modes, and you can choose your desired one depending on the kind of pain you are experiencing:

  1. Burst mode
  2. Normal mode
  3. Modulation mode

Along with these settings, the TENS 3000 has a precision timer that you can set to five, 10, and 15 seconds.

This device comes in a durable carrying case and with a one-year warranty, as well as a 9V rechargeable battery, two lead wires, and two electrode pairs. The electrodes have long-lasting gel, which makes them reusable.

How to Use the TENS 3000

  1. Confirm that the amplitude knobs are turned off, and then slowly slide the battery cover open and fit your battery the right way.
  2. Next, insert the lead wire jacks into the ports adjacent to the knobs. You can use both if you need four electrodes or one for two electrodes.
  3. Finally, attach the electrodes to the lead wires and place the pads onto your skin, which requires relief. You should spread the electrodes well around the painful area to maximize the effects.

Once your device is all set, you can increase the intensity with the amplitude knobs. Amp it up until you can feel it working and to the point you are most comfortable with. This should be a gradual adjustment, don't rush to 80mA right away. Depending on your kind and intensity of pain, your doctor should guide you on the mode, pulse rate, and width that will work best for you.

With the TENS 3000, you should get the relief you need whenever you need it. No more worrying about the side effects of drugs that make you uncomfortable.
