Is this product ridgid enough to pull up compression socks?

No! It is not helpful in putting on compression socks. I have had 2 of these devices snap/crack in half because of the pressure of the socks themselves.

Is this aid helpful with putting on compression thigh high socks?

I use these to don thigh high compression hose. I have found if you apply the hose in a different direction than shorter hose, it is easier. I take the toe end and pull it onto the wide end. Pull it on down so the toe is pulled all the way off the aide, past the seam of the toe. Continue pulling on hose just till no resistance is felt. Any left over hose is just pulled over, resulting in the aide loaded only with the foot and part of the hose on. Pull onto ft in normal, fashion.

I use it with calf high non-compression socks. I did attempt to use with knee high compression socks, but their tightness did not permit the cylinder to expand sufficiently to slide over my heel. I don't imagine it would work with thigh igh compression socks.
