Raised Toilet Seats that attach to the top of a toilet have been the norm for situations requiring elevated toileting until the introduction of the Toilevator.
Raised Toilet Seats have had some drawbacks:
They are generally unsightly and have robbed the dignity of those people forced to use them, especially when other family members or friends are involved in caregiving
Raised Toilet Seats are by nature not very stable and many a client has suffered a fall
The majority of Raised Toilet Seats require the removal of the regular toilet seat and consequently there is no lid
Raised Toilet Seats require constant cleaning due to the relatively small opening awarded through the necessity of design
In the area of hygiene health care workers are subjected to potential of infectious diseases in the cleaning of Raised Toilet Seats
The Toilevator toilet base elevator successfully addresses each one of these concerns. The Toilevator comes complete with all parts required for installation. Installation time is approximately one half-hour and can be accomplished by anyone possessing handyman skills. Plumbers are an option but not a necessity.

Questions:
It says the toilevator supports up to 500 lbs. Is that the weight of the actual toilet included plus the weight of the individual?

Question By: Big Bird on Nov 30 -0001 12:00 AM
Allegro Medical is a distributor; I contacted the manufacturer directly and was told that that 500# maximum weight capacity is a "tare weight." The weight of the complete toilet (tank, bowl & pedestal) has already been accommodated, so the 500# weight capacity is the maximum for ONLY the individual sitting on the "toilevated" john.

Yes, the Toilevator will work with an elongated bowl. Both our bathrooms are handicap-enabled with elongated-bowl toilets, and both of those toilets were raised in 2012 with a Toilevator.

Toilets such as the Drake II have aprox. a 24 1/2" base and need a toile- vator Grande for a base. The Toto has abouut 9 1/2" width. The thing I don't like about the Grande spacer is that it is 14 1/2 " wide instead of 11 1/2" but you have to use what works. The basic unit is too short. Also I don't use the foam ring but prefer the wax rings . They don't break down over time. I also use S/steel bolts instead of brass. They don't rust

Yes-we have an elongated toilet-The base fits right underneath the regular toilet (has to be lifted). When placed atop the the joint is seamless and between the floor and toilevator is then caulked making a smooth clean appearance. It is very sturdy-looks like part of the toilet. Priced right, also.
