Questions:
I am looking to purchase intramuscular syringe with detachable needle for testosterone cyp. shot. I want to draw with 18g and inject with 23g. Could you please suggest a syringe with detachable needle so I can use one syringe while switching needles from 18g to 23g.
Thank you

I have used 23, 22 and 25 guage for test cyp. (due to pharmacy screw ups). 22 feels huge to inject with to me. I don't mind the 23. 22 is really easy for drawing, so I wouldn't see a need for 18 at any rate. 25 is nearly impossible to draw into. I've done it but it just takes a lot more patience. of course, 25 is the easiest to inject but then you have to push a lot harder to get the stuff through the needle. My doctor recommended just using the 23 and I think he's right on.

I use the BD 3ml Syringe with Luer-Lok tip and 23G x 1-1/2 BD PrecisionGlide. I bought the syringe and needle as a unit and bought 19G needle separately for drawing from the vial. I typically use multidose vials and the 23G draws too slowly for my patience. I believe anything with a Luer-Lok tip will interchange ok. The PrecisionGlide works very well and the 23Gauge is almost painless.

I use it to draw and deliver. Works great, goes in perfectly. Drawing the concentrated stuff will go slower, but there's no point in using two needles just to make the draw quicker. Definitely fill with air to get the gear out quicker

These are perfect for intramuscular injections. I also use for test and I've stayed with these since I started. I draw with 23 and pin with 23. I don't see a need for a bigger gauge to draw. These will pull even room temperature oil up very well and they still remain sharp enough to get through your skin effortlessly. Of course it helps to inject air into your vial in te amount of test you wish to pull. If using the break away single dose glass vial then a larger gauge may be necessary. I hope this helps.

what if medicine won't draw from the vial

I regularly draw medicine the consistency of olive oil using this syringe. It's slow, but doable. 1) make sure to tighten the needle hub against the cylinder. This'll minimize vacuum leaks. 2) IF recommended, inject a bit of air to pressurize the medicine (make sure air won't ruin the medicine--it may, especially with reusable, oil-based solutions 3) make sure the needle tip is below the level of the fluid. 4) draw slowly: if you pull too fast, you'll lose your vacuum one way or another, e.g. threads, other holes in cap of vial.

Try using a bigger fudge needle to draw from vial. Not sure what kind of medicine it is but sometimes the medicine is dry inside the vial andv requires the insertion of bacteriostatic water. Email me at [email protected] for detailed assistance.

Usually due to negative pressure. Make sure you "push" air into the vial before trying to "pull" medicine out. I use 2cc in for every 1cc I am trying to get out.
