Wondering how many the price means. 1? 6? 12? Someone else asked and no one responded. Why?

The price is for 1. The price varies by size.
Answer By: Randy on May 13 2003 3:53 PM
The pricing is $5.74 for one pad. This is an excellent price. At a local store they were $16 for a single pad. These last for several years. Do NOT use fabric softener when washing--it interferes with the absorbency and breaks down the waterproof backing.

I use the 34x36 size for my husband. This size seems to be the same size as is used in the hospital and rehab hospital he was in. It is easy to pull his up in the bed and covers all the important areas.
Answer By: Susan on Apr 14 2018 11:55 AM
My best guesstimate would be about 34X35 but the least I would ever go is 30X35
Answer By: judy on Aug 11 2026 9:33 PM
I use the 34x52 for my dad as I put it long ways across the bed and can pull him up in his hospital bed with someone on the other side.
Answer By: CindyLou on May 12 2005 9:42 PM
I bought 34x52 for DH and put them on his bed lenghtwise as they are almost the width of a twin bed and he occasionally slides down in his bed
Answer By: Caregiver on Jan 13 2020 10:51 AM
It depends on your usage. Are you using them for sitting in a chair, traveling, or only in bed. I purchased various sizes and have been very happy with them.

what is bariatric

Question By: larry on Apr 12 2004 8:32 PM
This means for large people
Answer By: CindyLou on May 12 2005 9:39 PM
Bariatric means "extra large" size.
Answer By: Marina on Jul 12 2009 11:44 PM
Bariatric is an area of medicine that deals with obesity. The bedpads in this category are large, full body pads. I purchased this size for my mother, although she is a rather petite woman. But she said the smaller ones moved up and out from under her and was worrisome to her. Using this largest size has made her much more comfortable and free to move around. We have been very satisfied with this reusable bedpad.

Questions:
There is one bed pad listed "with flaps". What does the flaps do?
1 Answers
Question By: shoparound on Mar 14 2003 12:07 PM
The flaps are there so that you are able to 'tuck' the pad under the mattress or a cushion to ensure that the pad itself is more secure that one without. I personally prefer the pads with the flaps.

Questions:
Do these shrink alot? I bought a different brand & they shrunk by about four inches in each direction after three washes in warm & dried on delicate.

Question By: Conni on Nov 11 2016 1:15 AM
I wash them in warm water with bleach and dry them on a cotton setting and have had no shrinkage or other problems. I have a dog who has a spinal condition that has resulted in the loss of use of his legs. We wash 3-4 of these every day. (We have a supply of 8-10 that we rotate.) They have held up very well after 7 months of continuous washing and drying.
Answer By: Boxer Mom on Mar 14 2025 7:13 AM
I don't wash them in warm or hot water, wash them in cold and use bleach, no shrinkage and I dry them on low, no shrinkage in the dryer.
Answer By: Trainer on Feb 12 2016 6:48 AM
No trouble with them, I just throw them in the washer set on heavy duty. I run them a second time in our dryer with auto dry to get them extra dry.
Answer By: del on Jan 13 2004 5:39 PM
No, they don't shrink if washed and dried according to the instruction tag. Not only that, but they last and last. I was afraid they would degrade and become frayed and worn, but that hasn't happened after several washings. I just bought more for travel. An excellent product choice.
Answer By: Garry on Jan 13 2005 8:48 AM
no they do not shrink.
Answer By: ginger on Jan 13 2008 12:56 PM
wash in cold air dry or dry on low.
Answer By: ginger on Jan 13 2008 1:01 PM
I wash all my reuseble pads in hot water and bleach and dry them with whites on hot. They did not schrink but did curl up a little on the corners. Do not use fabic softner, as that makes them leak.
Answer By: Liz on Jan 13 2009 3:29 AM
Bought two of the 34 X 52 for my nine-year old granddaughter when she visits as she still wets the bed occasionally. I place it crosswise over the regular mattress pad that covers a queen-sized mattress under her body where the mattress needs the most protection. It works great. I wash it in cold water and line-dry. So far it hasn't shrunk,is still absorbable, and the plastic backing is pliable and as good as new.
Answer By: Carolyn on Jan 13 2010 10:13 PM
Bought for human use. Loaned to neighbor for pet use. Returned with bloody stain. Presoaked and washed in hot/heavy cycle. As for other reviewer, no shrinkage, but minor curling which is no problem.
Answer By: Leslie on Jan 13 2013 4:12 PM
I have found that after 2 months of washing they are holding up really well. No shrinkage like the other brands, and look like new.
Answer By: Anna on Feb 13 2026 4:08 PM
Used a little over 6 months & washing on average once a week. The front (absorbing) part has shunk but the backing has not. This has made them curl & wont lay flat any more. Washed according to directions. They will be unusable in less than 1 year.

Questions:
Grayson bedpads, are they plastic on one side? Or just shiney fabric?

Question By: Ann Becker on Jan 15 2016 8:47 AM
they are quilted padding, on back they are blue material which would be easy to use as a pull sheet if person is hard to turn. I have 1 from from Invacare have had several years with many washes.
Answer By: Emily on May 15 2011 11:47 AM
No, not plastic, but a similar type of material. They haven't broken down on me yet, and I end up washing all of them about 3 times a week now for close to 2 years.
