Good question. I have never seen it turn green on my father's diabetic wounds. If the wound is turning green and has an odor I would seek medical help.
Fibracol will absorb and draw away moisture from the wound, so at times the product will become gooey depending on how much moisture it has absorbed from the wound. With my father it is mostly a yellow-ish color. I have used it on myself for cuts and noticed the yellow-ish color as well. That is normal. Green, however, sounds worrisome. Seek further help.

Questions:
How often should Fibrachol Plus with Alginate be changed from slow healing venous ulcers?

I am not a Dr. so use your own judgement, however generally when using this on my father's diabetic leg, if an ulcer or tear in the skin forms, I will place a piece over the wound, (double it if deep), and if it is dry and stuck to the wound when I check it again I will leave it two to three days -- that will usually heal it. If it is wet I will change it until the new fibracol application appears dry . If the wound gets worse or continues to be wet then we seek further help at the VA clinic's wound care department.
